How Prop Firms & Prop Trading Work | PropFirmsCompass.com

The retail programme model

Retail prop firms commonly sell access to evaluations governed by targets and loss limits. Traders pay for an attempt rather than deposit the displayed capital into a personal investment account. An advertised account size is a notional trading balance, often simulated. These selected firm overviews cover different programmes and are neither a complete market survey nor a ranking of suitability.

One-step, two-step and instant options

A one-step challenge generally has one assessment phase; a two-step challenge has two, with objectives that may differ between phases. Some firms offer additional stages or instant programmes without the same preliminary assessment. Instant does not mean unconditional access to cash or guaranteed rewards. Rules, available sizes and fees must be checked for each option rather than transferred from another programme at the same firm.

Look beyond the advertised fee and share

A low upfront payment can be only part of the cost. Required activation fees, optional reward-share upgrades and other extras may change the total. The list keeps essential qualifications visible and separates entry configurations from account ranges. A standard share and a paid maximum are not equivalent. Reward requests may depend on waiting periods, profitable days, consistency limits and approval; eligibility is distinct from processing and receipt.

Not employment at a traditional trading firm

Traditional proprietary trading firms trade their own capital and may employ traders under workplace and remuneration arrangements. Buying a retail evaluation does not establish that employment relationship. Passing is not a salary offer, and a subsequent account can remain simulated. Review the provider’s agreement, current availability and residency restrictions, as well as its trading rules. Direct sources and supplied research dates appear in each expanded record; unresolved details should be confirmed before purchase, not assumed to be favourable.

Am I becoming an employee by buying a challenge?

No. A retail programme purchase is not an employment agreement with a traditional proprietary trading firm.

Does instant access remove trading rules?

No. Instant programmes have their own loss limits, fees and reward conditions.

Is the highest advertised reward share standard?

Not necessarily. Higher shares can depend on the plan or a paid add-on; check the displayed qualification.
